Does Ikoma become a kabane?

Enhanced Regeneration: His wounds evidently regenerate much more quickly, his vitality making him capable of recovering from a wound that is fatal to humans.

In spite of this popularity, Kabaneri still has yet to receive a second season for its original anime series, with the time in between making a new season seem increasingly unlikely. However, it has received a manga based the series, as well as several movies.

Kon eventually developed feelings for Kabane, as this was obviously seen when Aya approaches Kabane and asks him to be her boyfriend. Kon increasingly became jealous of Aya and gets upset easily. This jealousy continues when Kabane trains with Princess Iyo Yashima.

Needless to say, but the following is a rant and has a bunch of spoilers. It was such an interesting anime and then Biba came along. Although he made it much more interesting at first, the actions of the characters in reaction to him were stupid.

After Ikoma lost his right arm, he welded the gun to the stump of his right arm and operated the trigger with his left. In Battle of Unato, it was removed and a prosthetic was installed in its place, allowing Ikoma to wield it normally again.

The crash forces him to retire from competitive racing and go into rehabilitation until no one really knows about what happened about Takumi. Despite this, he still remained close to the sport. After his recovery, he became an instructor at Royal Donington Racing School (RDRS), where he trained Kanata and Emma Green.

Upon boarding the Koutetsujou, Ikoma met a mysterious girl named Mumei, who later revealed herself to be a Kabanari like him. Together they proved their allegiance towards Princess Ayame Yomogawa and began their journey to Kongokaku, in the hope of finding a safe haven.

Mumei realizes that Biba had given white blood to Ikoma while both of them were unconscious. Mumei then returns Ikoma's memento stone.

It is a fact that a monster had suddenly appeared capable of infecting humans with its bite but other than that at present the Kabane's origins are entirely unknown. It is simply stated that their appearance twenty years prior to the story is what caused people to construct stations and the railways linking them.

In Episode 10, one of Biba's men have stated that male Kabaneri are hard to find, it is currently unknown why this is the case. It is likely that surviving the process requires a high tolerance for pain, as they also assume that Ikoma's must be quite high.

Ikoma is the male protagonist of the Kabaneri series.

In the end, Biba's ideals are destroyed by his death at the hands of Mumei. He was wrong to say that the way of the world is that the strong survive and the weak should die. The very fact that the fatal blow is delivered by Mumei and not Ikoma confirms this, as well as her last speech to him.

Throughout Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' first season, the duo had a strictly platonic relationship based on the fact that they were the only two surviving kabaneri in the world. In the 3-part movie, however, the creators showed Mumei having a random one-sided crush on Ikoma.

The effects of the black blood start to diminish and Ikoma wakes up. Mumei realizes that Biba had given white blood to Ikoma while both of them were unconscious. Mumei then returns Ikoma's memento stone.

As the Kabane invade the station, Ikoma escapes from his cell and goes on to finish his steam gun. He uses his blood as bait. He manages to kill a Kabane but he is bitten and the virus starts to infect his body. Ikoma strangles himself using a belt and a machine to stop the virus from reaching his brain.

The reason he injected Ikoma with the white blood in the last ep was to weaken him. Biba was too much of a coward to use the black blood on himself, so instead he tried to make Ikoma human so that he could kill him. That's why he tells Ikoma that he killed a coward afterwards.
