I think the 'sweet spot' for value on an excavator is somewhere in the 2000-3000 hour area, and then the 6-8000 hour area. Over 10000 can still be a good machine, but could be close to a 15k engine or pump, plus most 10k on up machines I see the u/c is getting weak. I have had cat, case, and komatsu.
