Is Netflix Eden worth watching?

Entertaining at some times but not worth your time. Predictable ending. Waste of a season, 8 episodes and you still don't know where the story is going or what's the point of all of it. Full of open questions.

Welcome to Eden has been canceled at Netflix after two seasons.

On July 7th, 2023 it was reported that the show had been officially canceled. The outlet cited viewing stats as being the series' main problems. The initially released season amassed 140,340,000 hours on Netflix's top 10 worldwide.

Cults & Conspiracies. Welcome To Eden: Young adults get invited to a festival to launch of a new drink at a secret island location. But of the 100 who attend, 5 will not leave. A cult runs the island, they worship Mother Nature but aren't above using the latest surveillance technology to enforce strict obedience.

Gay, Bi, Pan, Trans, Poly, Queer you name it they got it. If you want an lgbtq show that's isn't directly about being lgbtq but has many lgbtq main characters, this is it.

... The execution is muddied a bit, and the story of Welcome to Eden feels too drawn out and over-complicated. The angst, relationship drama, and peril the characters face can be engaging, but it also falls into the soap opera vibe way too easily and remains in a juvenile state of storytelling.

Eden is a fictional character, but her story is far from fiction. Eden is based on Chong Kim's book Broken Silence (2017), which details her experience as a human trafficking victim.

Previously, in “Welcome to Eden,” Episode 3, Nico learned that Saul had threatened Astrid with death. Saul was the one who'd even attacked Erick and stabbed him.

Parents need to know that Eden is a dark Australian series about a young woman who goes missing under mysterious circumstances in a small, picturesque beach town. It features lots of mature content, including strong sexual content (including simulated sex scenes), drug dealing and use, and addiction-related plot lines.

Outer Banks is a fantastically popular show filled with great friends, a bit of love, some beautiful beaches, and a mysterious treasure hunt that leads to considerable danger along the way. It has much of the same tropes as Welcome to Eden and really resembles a similar presence on Netflix.

The show won't be coming back for any future episodes. We've been welcomed to Eden twice now and while a third visit was certainly warranted, Netflix has decided not to renew Welcome to Eden for a third season.
