Heritage Golf by Pringle of Scotland Heritage Golf is a limited-edition unisex capsule collection re-releasing some of Pringle of Scotland's most famous and beloved Eighties Golf styles. The collection includes classic argyle, polo shirts, golf sweaters and sleeveless jumpers.

Formation. Robert Pringle established Pringle of Scotland in 1815 in the Scottish Borders. Initially the company produced hosiery and underwear, and have been producing cashmere since 1870. Otto Weisz was appointed as the first full-time designer in the knitwear industry in 1934.

In 1815, our founder, Robert Pringle, worked within a partnership called Waldie, Pringle & Wilson in Hawick, Scotland. They bought the Whisky House Mill that year, to set up the framework for knitting and spinning hosiery yarn.

Our home and heart is in Hawick, in the Scottish Borders. This area has a rich heritage of knitting traditions and manufacturing, and we are proud to still make many of our famous cashmere pieces and more intricate designs here.

This season Pringle, long synonymous with sportswear and the original home of argyle, has re-imagined some of its most famous and beloved 1980s golfing styles in a modern unisex capsule.

Pringle's are an excellent example of a manufactured good that is priced according to market value. The cost of production is (almost) entirely irrelevant. The combination of perceived product quality and marketing generated demand allows the company to set a premium price that customers are freely willing to pay.

Pringle of Scotland will continue operating e-commerce and plan to reopen their Mount Street flagship once coronavirus lockdown restrictions are eased or lifted, but the future of the business remains unclear.
