Is Welcome to Eden coming back?

The show won't be coming back for any future episodes. We've been welcomed to Eden twice now and while a third visit was certainly warranted, Netflix has decided not to renew Welcome to Eden for a third season. Here's why the show was canceled and everything we wanted from a Welcome to Eden season 3 on Netflix.

The second season of the Edens Zero anime television series was confirmed through the franchise's official Twitter account on February 9, 2022. It is produced by J.C.Staff, with Toshinori Watanabe replacing Yūshi Suzuki as director following Suzuki's death.

Unfortunately, Netflix canceled the show after season 2, leaving many unanswered questions and unresolved plotlines for fans. The woefully short-lived Netflix exclusive thriller series Welcome to Eden featured an ending that pointed to big things in the future for the show, but they never came to fruition.

Netflix's Eden is set in a futuristic world solely inhabited by intelligent robots who have created a perfect utopian society. E92 and A37 have secretly raised a human baby who they accidentally discovered, and Sara Grace, now age 18, leads the mission to rescue the human race- before they run out of time.

On July 7th, 2023 it was reported that the show had been officially canceled. The outlet cited viewing stats as being the series' main problems. The initially released season amassed 140,340,000 hours on Netflix's top 10 worldwide.

Welcome to Eden was created by Joaquín Górriz and Guillermo López. The series was produced by Brutal Media. The shooting locations in Spain included the province of Teruel, the island Lanzarote and San Sebastián. The episodes were directed by Daniel Benmayor and Menna Fité.

... The execution is muddied a bit, and the story of Welcome to Eden feels too drawn out and over-complicated. The angst, relationship drama, and peril the characters face can be engaging, but it also falls into the soap opera vibe way too easily and remains in a juvenile state of storytelling.

Previously, in “Welcome to Eden,” Episode 3, Nico learned that Saul had threatened Astrid with death. Saul was the one who'd even attacked Erick and stabbed him.

The highlight: except for a few annexes added in the series, the “Welcome to Eden” filming location so really exists. And even better, you can check into two of the fancy buildings for real and take a vacation.

Eden is based on Chong Kim's book Broken Silence (2017), which details her experience as a human trafficking victim. Chong Kim describes herself as a “Disabled Asian-American Activist, Author, Speaker, and TV Producer.” For nearly 20 years, she has used her story to speak out and draw attention to human trafficking.

Outer Banks is a fantastically popular show filled with great friends, a bit of love, some beautiful beaches, and a mysterious treasure hunt that leads to considerable danger along the way. It has much of the same tropes as Welcome to Eden and really resembles a similar presence on Netflix.

Parents need to know that Welcome to Eden is a Spanish thriller series (available dubbed in English) that features mature themes, violence (blood is often visible), and strong sexual content (including a bare bottom). Kidnapping and death are also major themes.
